Longwood Tournament Under Way

The preliminary matches of the Third Annual Invitation Indoor Tournament for the Longwood Covered Courts Trophy in Singles were played yesterday afternoon at the Longwood indoor courts. The semi-finalists will continue to play for qualifications in the finals today. Yesterday's matches resulted as follows: First round--G. C. Caner '17 defeated H. G. M. Kelleher '18, 6-3, 6-0. I. C. Wright defeated Wighton, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Second round--R. N. Williams, 2d, '16 defeated J. S. Pfaffmann '16, 6-0, 7-5. G. P. Gardner, Jr., '10 defeated H. A. MacKinney 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. H. C. Johnson defeated G. C. Caner '17, 9-7, 6-4. I. C. Wright defeated Wheelwright, 6-1, 4-1, 6-3.
