To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

The spring recess gives an excellent opportunity to all Freshmen to consult their families as to the concentration which will be best for them. It is very important that every Freshman should see his adviser before the recess begins and then take the results of the conference home to his family. When he has found all the help that he can in this way, he ought immediately upon his return from the vacation begin to put his plan in order and ask his adviser or other people how he can best arrange the details.

Every student also in the Sophomore and Junior classes who intends to be here next year ought to take equally careful thought about three of his courses which he has to hand in on or before the first of May. It is unsafe and unwise to postpone the choice of these three courses until the last minute and then to put down anything that may come into his mind. It is true that for good reasons he can change the courses so chosen during the summer, if he obtains permission from the Committee on the Choice of Electives. It is also true that on the first Tuesday of the academic year next autumn a petition which gives sufficient reason and is approved by the adviser will very probably be approved by the Committee. But after the first Tuesday, the changing of courses is difficult and any change made without the permission of the Committee is likely to get a man into trouble. CHARLES P. PARKER.
