HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
The University of Lausanne, at Lausanne, Switzerland, is offering courses of instruction this summer which are particularly designed to meet the needs of foreigners who desire practical training in the French language and literature. The courses will be given between July 20 and August 15. Lectures are on only five days of the week, allowing two consecutive days each week for excursions to points of interest. Throughout the session there are courses in grammar and composition,
In the first half of the period, from July 20 to August 9, Professor Millione will give a course on the style of the chief periods of French literature; Professor Rossier will lecture on the questions of contemporary history; and Professor Freymond will give a course on the French language since the Revolution. During the second part of the session, from August 10 to August 30, Professor Volait will give a course on literary life in the nineteenth century. Professor Maurer will give a course which will consider the theory of translation, with its practical application in translating from English, German, and Russian into French. The other courses will give practice in composition and grammar.
