HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
As a preventitive measure against the epidemic of infantile paralysis all students in the University when registering will be required to sign a card stating that they have not been exposed to the disease. These cards, which have been issued by Dr. Roger I. Lee will contain a printed form of questions which must be filled out by each student. The first question is whether the student has been in the same room or house with anyone suffering from anterior polomyelitus, or who has subsequently developed it, since September 1. In that case the student will be required to report to Dr. Lee and will be placed either in the Stillman Infirmary or in some other hospital for two weeks. The student will also be required to state his residence for more than twenty-four hours, since September 1.
