PRES. ELIOT AT ENTERTAINMENT

Phillips Brooks House Will Have "Open House" Christmas Night.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Phillips Brooks House will hold its annual "open house" entertainment for those who remain in Cambridge during the recess on Christmas night, beginning at 6 o'clock and lasting the entire evening. An old-fashioned Christmas entertainment before the open fire will be provided, and the usual apples, nuts, candy, doughnuts and cider will be served.

President Eliot will tell of interesting features of college life in his undergraduate days, from 1849 to 1853, in place of the reading from the Scriptures which it was announced he would give. J. E. Bagley, Sp., and Miss Neu will give a musical program, and H. C. Shaw '01 will entertain with several monologues. F. W. C. Hersey '99 will read the Christmas story from the New Testament.

Phillips Brooks House extends a cordial invitation to all members of the University who are in Cambridge on Christmas Day to attend this entertainment. It will not conflict with President Lowell's reception Christmas Eve.
