Two events have been added to the winter track carnival on Soldiers Field and in the cage which starts today. They are the 1,000-yard scratch race which will be run at 4.30 today and the 35-pound weight event which is to be decided tomorrow. The races this afternoon will begin at 3.40 and the field events at 4 o'clock. Men who have taken strength tests, but have not signed up in the blue books for any of the events, will be allowed to compete today and tomorrow.

Much interest is attached to the interclass relay race to be run later in the afternoon. These teams are to be made up of ten men who will each run two laps, the winners in today's races to meet in the finals tomorrow to decide the championship. Two years ago the Class of 1917 came in ahead, but were defeated last year by the 1916 team. The captain of the Senior team is E. A. Teschner '17, of the Junior team, A. E. Rowse '18, and of the Sophomore team, H. W. Rose '19. B. S. Blanchard '20 will lead the Freshmen.

Six men, each running two laps, will compete in the races between the Freshmen dormitories. The following captains have been made responsible for their teams: L. B. Evans '19 for Smith; B. S. Blanchard '20 for Standish; and H. B. Davis '20 for Gore.

Today's events are scheduled as follows:

3.40: 40-yard dash preliminaries.

3.50: 45-yard hurdles.

4.00: Interdormitory team race.

4.00: shot put, high jump and broad jump.

4.15: Four-lap novice race.

4.20: Interclass team race, Juniors vs. Freshmen and Seniors vs. Sophomores.

4.30: 1,000-yard scratch race.

This schedule is subject to change without notice.
