St. John's K of C baseball team nosed out a 7 to 5 win over the University nine in a loosely-played game on Soldiers Field yesterday. From inning to inning the lead see-sawed back and forth, neither team leading the other by a greater margin than one run until the St. John's nine scored its final tally in the seventh frame. The University team's hitting was not telling and their fielding, uncertain, especially around mid-diamond in the first six innings, because Captain Emmons was delayed in entering the game.

In the first inning the prospects looked dark when two St. John's men singled and third one was passed filling the bases, but Goode tightened up and retired the side. In the third inning, Barrett, the visitor's left fielder, drove the ball into the soccer field for a home run. When the University went to bat, Clark and Shaw scored on a hit by Lincoln.

With these exceptions most of the runs were a result of errors. Neither of the pitchers received the support they deserved.
