SLATTERY'S TEAMS TIE, 3-3

Coach Slattery gave his squad of 30 a long, vigorous workout on the first team diamond yesterday afternoon, ending the session with a six-inning practice game between teams A and B that resulted in a tie score, 3-3. The men played well and the team is in good shape for its first regular game next Wednesday. From that time on, there will probably be games scheduled on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Yesterday the coach had the players warm up slowly. Then, after the first and second nines had finished fungo practice, he called the game. R. P. Field '23 started in the box for team A with R. H. Keogan '23 behind the bat. E. L. Bigelow '21, Captain R. W. Emmons Occ., R. B. Shaw '21 and E. C. Lincoln '22 made up the infield, E. F. Goode '22 and J. D. Scott '22 were the battery for team B.

Emmons Brings in First Run

Team A went to bat first and made one run when Captain Emmons stole home after having reached third while Lincoln was being trapped and tagged out between third and home. Then Goode warmed up to his task and retired the side. Field was erratic during the second half of the inning and team B scored two runs. Team A failed to get on bases in the next inning but, when team B came to bat, Goode made a run, making his team's total 3. T. K. Oakes '23 relieved Field during the third inning and T. C. Watson '23 took Goode's place in the fourth. There was no more scoring until the fifth inning, when Shaw's single, followed by a sacrifice hit by Lincoln, brought in two runs and tied the score, which remained 3 to 3 as neither side scored in the final inning.
