This afternoon, starting at 5 o'clock in the Charles River Basin, three races will be held between the first crews of the University, Princeton, and Pennsylvania, the second crews of the University and Princeton, and the 1923 eights of the last two colleges. They will be rowed over the mile and seven-eights course from the Cottage Farm Bridge to the Union Boat Club boathouse.

Mr. C. J. D. Goldie, a former oarsman of Oxford and Leander, has accepted the invitation to referee the afternoon's races. The first contest is the dual race between the Tiger and Crimson yearlings, which will be followed by the races of the second crews of Princeton and Harvard. The last race will be that between the three first crews.

Tigers on Charles Yesterday.

The Princeton eights, which arrived in Cambridge yesterday morning, had their first workout in the afternoon, when they went out for an easy row over the course, accompanied by Coach Spaeth. It is not likely that they will row again this morning. The Pennsylvania crew rowed twice yesterday, at 11 o'clock and 5, when Coach Wright followed in the launch.

R. Jenny '21 has been elected captain of University B for the race, as have the strokes of the Princeton second and '23 crews, R. Campbell leading the seconds and G. Wright the freshmen.

The Princeton men were all in fine shape and rowed a smooth, even stroke. The average weight is 171 pounds, while the average measurement is 5 feet, 11 inches.

The statistics of the first crews which are racing and the line-ups of the others are as follows:
