1923 MEETS ENGINEERS

SAVE OWEN FOR TUESDAY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Coach Young will start T. S. Oakes on the mound when the Freshmen meet M. I. T. 1923 on Soldiers Field at 3 this afternoon. In order that G. Owen, whom he is saving to pitch against the Elis on Monday, may have an opportunity to figure in the batting list, Coach Young is making a slight change in his outfield. Owen will go to left field, while J. S. Clark will be shifted to right field. Otherwise the line-up will be unchanged.

Oakes is a southpaw with a deceptive delivery and an effective indrop, but is lacking in speed. As a relief pitcher he has shown up well in games this year and should easily be able to control the M. I. T. team.

On Monday the team will oppose Yale at New Haven. The probable line-up of the Eli yearlings will be as follows: De Sibour, l.f.; Mintener, c.f.; Jones, 2b,; Kelley (captain), 3b.; Durant, 1b.; Cutler, s.s.; Dann, c.; Hickey, r.f. No definite announcement has been made as to who will pitch for Yale, but it is expected that Eddy will be in the box. For the Freshmen the line-up will be unchanged except that G. Owen will pitch, while K. B. Lucas will replace him in right field.
