THIS WEEK

It goes without saying that prophecies, based merely on past records, mean very little. Yet last Saturday's game in the Bowl is not entirely without significance. It shows that Yale is especially strong this year. To defeat her Harvard must play much better football and its team must have much better support.

No one need waste any breath exhorting the team to fight its hardest: it will do that without being told. But for the rest of us, this week must be an all-absorbing campaign to back the team and make its fighting more effective. Many people will listen to the croaking of pessimistic prophets; the betting odds may be against us. But all the more reason to support the team to the utmost--and beyond. Victory next Saturday will be all the sweeter for the obstacles to be overcome.
