The movement for an Intercollegiate Rifle Association with nine charter members, among whom are included Yale and Princeton, is now practically complete according to a statement issued by R. Hopkins of Princeton, temporary secretary of the new organization and chick promoter of the movement. The purpose of the association is to promote facilities for collegiate rifle work and more specifically to inaugurate revolver competitions and to choose teams from the colleges who are members to meet similar teams from other countries.
The University Rifle Team received an invitation in December to send a representative to the meeting at which arrangements for the association were made, but was unable to do so, and as a result is not one of the original members of the society. When Manager G. C. Boss '22 was questioned last night as to whether the University would join be said that the Rifle Team was ready to enter the association provided the Athletic Association gave its consent.
