Coach Percy Catton '15 will send the lacrosse men outside today for the first practice out of the baseball cage this season. Forty-five men have reported for the University team and eighteen for the Freshman, all of whom have been practicing in the cage since March 1.
Coach Catton is making a strong effort to put his men into shape early this year and to get lacrosse back to the level of the championship teams which represented the University before 1913. As a result he has ordered practice earlier than usual.
Prospects for a strong University team are good this year and work will be intensive for the month that lies before the first game against the Navy at Annapolis on April 20.
Very few men, however, reported for the Freshman team. An interdormitory series will be started late in April and a far larger number of candidates are required, since twelve men play on each team. A cup will be awarded to all members of the winning team.
