The name "Roosevelt" is one to conjure with wherever there are Americans and particularly Harvard men. The second "Colonel", who will speak at the Union this evening, has in no way allowed the lustre of the name to grow dim. Prominent in national affairs since his graduation from the University he has behind him a remarkable record. In the Great War he served with distinction. He filled an important position at the Washington Conference. At present he occupies the office of assistant-secretary of the Navy--succeeding his cousin, Franklin D. Roosevelt '04.

Mr. James Montgomery Beck, who, with Lieutenant-Colonel Roosevelt, will speak at the Union, was formerly United States Attorney in Pennsylvania and Assistant Attorney-General during the administration of President Roosevelt. He now occupies the post of Solicitor-General of the United States.

Out of their wide experience in government, what these men will have to say will be of unusual interest to all members of the University, whether Democratic or Republican.
