CANCEL 1925 SMOKER PLANNED FOR TONIGHT

Also Likely to Have Trouble With New Law--Pfaffman, Henry and Baldwin to Speak--Plan Musical Act

Last minute developments making it impossible to arrange for moving pictures have made it necessary to cancel the Sophomore Smoker which was scheduled for this evening. The Committee had hoped to be able to avoid strict compliance with the state law prohibiting the projection of motion pictures in private buildings more than once during any one week, by means of a special permit. This permit they failed to get and the Smoker has therefore been postponed until Tuesday, January 9.

The Junior class, however, will continue with its plans and will hold its Smoker tomorrow evening as scheduled at 7.45 o'clock in the Living Room of the Union. Since the Union is planning to show motion pictures on Friday the same difficulty that faced the Sophomores is presented to the Juniors, but the chance for two releases is better than for three, there is a possibility that this form of entertainment will be included.

The chief event on the program of this Smoker will be a musical act by Mr. J. S. Seabury and Mr. J. H. Densmore '04, the author and composer of "Veritas".

K. S. Pfaffman, Chairman of the Smoker Committee, will preside and will introduce the class president, B. McK. Henry, who will make a short speech. A complete explanation of the plans for the Junior dance, to be held March 9, will be given by F. T. Baldwin, the box chairman of the Dance Committee.

As a part of the usual smoker entertainment Bert Lowe's first string orchestra will provide the music, and refreshments will be served.
