The University fencing team led by Captain Burke Boyce '22 left last evening for Philadelphia where they will meet the University of Pennsylvania team tonight. Besides Boyce, E. H. Lane '24, and E. L. Lane '24 which is the regular fencing team, the party included J. S. Barss '22 and J. K. Watson '23 who will fight with duelling swords.
Although the Philadelphia combination was recently defeated 7-2 by Yale, and the University team has had no difficulty in remaining undefeated, the former is expected to offer stiff resistance. An interesting feature of the meet is that the University of Pennsylvania foilsmen have been trained in the Italian fashion, whereas the University men have been coached in the French manner. The home team has the unusual distinction of including two left-handed fencers.
