The consensus of opinion at an Educational Meeting held yesterday afternoon under the auspices of the Liberal Club was overwhelmingly in favor of the establishment at the University of the much discussed tutorial system.
Professors G. F. Moore '06 and E. E. Day '09 spoke on the desirability of introducing the tutorial system at the University. Professor Moore compared the British with the American system, indicating the lack of tradition in the latter which made it difficult to obtain good tutors. Professor Day advocated a double system, whereby certain men could take the degree in the old way, while those who showed sufficient interest would be allowed to use the tutorial method.
Objections to such differentiation was voiced by several students, whereupon digious ignorance of the average alumnus and overseer as regards educational progress at Harvard, and said that he and other alumni were present to learn all they could from student opinion.
