On soft ice which prevented last skating, the Freshman hockey team won by the slight margin of two points from the Phillips Exeter Academy at Exeter on Saturday.
The Freshmen got the jump on their opponents. Ten seconds after the puck was thrown into play, Zarakov at center scored from mid-rink: He was followed in a few minutes by Coady who picked the rubber from a scrimmage in front of the goal and drove it past Bott into the Exeter net for the Crimson's second and last tally.
From that point on the puck seesawed up and down the rink. Hampered by the poor ice, passing proved almost impossible and fast skating was quite out of the question.
The summary:
Score, Harvard Freshmen 2, Exeter 0. Goals, Zarakov, Coady. Time, three 12-minute periods. Referee, Dagnino.
