In the last big test prior to its clash with Yale, the Freshman five were defeated 27 to 18 by a powerful Exeter quintet.
The first half ended with the score 12 to 5 in favor of Exeter. Beginning the second half Coach Chase substituted De Ravignon and McCrum, and soon the score was 14-13. Exeter then began a spurt which gave them a comfortable lead, and they maintained this to the end.
The team was severely handicapped by the loss of Leekley, but as he leaves the Infirmary today Coach Chase expects to have him ready to start against Yale next week.
