SOPHOMORES MEET AT SMOKER WHERE LOWELL GIVES SPEECH

The living room of the Union was crowded with Sophomores last night on the occasion of the 1927 smoker, the first and only gathering of the class this year.

In charge of the meeting was L. H. Duggan '27, who introduced the speakers, B. L. Kilgour '27, president of the class, spoke first. Dean Bacon followed him and spoke on the intellectual side of the class of 1927. F. V. Field '27, class treasurer, gave a statement of the class financial condition and requested further financial support.

The next speaker was President Lowell, who gave a brief talk about the value of a college education. Several piano selections by J. L. Kelleher '27 and Donald Frothingham '27 followed.
