"If they run around the track all afternoon it will not give men the same foundation for the winter and spring meets that cross-country does," is the opinion of Coach Nikkola Jakko. "The more men we get out this fall, the better track team we will have next spring." Nevertheless, Coach Jakko is quite confident that his cross-country men will make a good showing this fall. Over 60 men have reported for the University team, and at least 40 have registered for the Freshman squad.
