TRIANGULAR MEET IS SATURDAY

Plans for the University entries in the triangular competition with the Dartmouth and Cornell track teams in Mechanics Building next Saturday were announced yesterday by Coach Farrell.

The Crimson mentor has indicated his plan of entering several of the strongest University runners in two or even three events in an effort to repeat last year's triumph over the Ithaca and Hancver teams. In the field events each team will be allowed three entries but in the track events the number of runners which each squad will be allowed to enter, ranges from two to four.

"Last year we won the triangular meet with a fraction over 50 points", said Coach Farrell yesterday in commenting on Saturday's meeting. "There are 116 points for distribution this year and we have set out goal at 58 points this year. Half of the points would insure a victory and we aim to utilize our strength in the track events to run up a safe margin. In the six track events, excepting the high hurdles there will be a distribution of 54 points of which we expect to capture 40."

Coach Moakley last night announced the Cornell entries following a series of trials for places on the squad. At the same time word was received from Ithaca that MacNeil, who won the mile in the triangular meet last year, his been placed on probation and will not be able to compete. The loss of the star Ithacan distance man is a serious blow to the hopes of the Cornell squad. Coach Hillman also announced the Green squad last night.

An innovation this year in connection with the seventh annual triangular meet will be a luncheon for the members of the three teams at the Varsity Club on Saturday.
