LACROSSE MEN LOSE TO BLUE IN LETTER GAME

YALE 1929 STARTS EARLY TO GAIN 7 TO 0 VICTORY

Yale proved the victor on the lacrosse field Saturday, when, it blanked the University 12, winning by a 6 to 0 score. The Freshman team, which travelled to New Haven to face the Elis on their home ground, fared even worse, the Blue team rolling up 7 goals, while the visitors failed to get any.

In the University game, Stephens of Yale, playing at first attack, had the Yale, playing at first attack, had the scoring honors of the afternoon, making three tallies. Lynch, a substitute attack man, got the ball into the net twice, and his teammate, Green, added the remaining score. Dreier was the outstanding man on the University team, and played a last game at first attack.

Blue 1929 Starts With Rush

In the Freshman game the Blue started out with a whirlwind attack, which netted four goals in the first period. Varden started the scoring for Yale when, shortly after the opening whistle, he broke through the Crimson defense, and slipped the ball into the net.

This game was the first that the Harvard Freshmen have played, their season consisting of but the single contest against Yale, whereas their opponents have had considerable opportunity for practice in actual play. Next year it is expected that the Harvard Freshmen will have other games added to their schedule.
