PROMINENT SPEAKERS TO VISIT DEMOCRATIC CLUB

Newton D. Baker, Former Secretary of War, Has Accepted Invitation--John W. Davis Expected

At the formal organization meeting of the Harvard Democratic Club, held at a dinner in the Union on Thursday night, it was announced that several of the most prominent members of the Democratic Party will address the members of the club at open forum discussions to be held during the winter.

Newton D. Baker, Secretary of War under President Wilson, has definitely accepted an invitation to speak at the Union at a meeting to be open to all members of the University, some time in January. John W. Davis, candidate for President in the 1924 campaign, and Senator Thomas J. Walsh of Montana are among other probable speakers, and former Governor W. E. Sweet of Colorado may be here some time this week to discuss possible issues for next year's political foray William G. McAdoo, former Secretary of the Treasury, has also been invited to appear under the auspices of the Democratic Club, which is planning several open forums to clarify the political situation in the minds of undergraduates.
