Alexander Maxwell Stollmeyer '30, of Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, British West Indies, was elected captain of next years soccer team yesterday, after having played consistently outstanding soccer at fullback, during his first year on the University team.
Stollmeyer prepared for the University at Queens Royal College, and played soccer all during College, and played soccer all during his preparatory school days. Last years Stollmeyer played fullback on his Freshman team, and was one of the strongest defense men on the 1930 aggregation.
This year, Stollmeyer and E. F. Clark Jr. '28 provided a defensive combination that saved the University team from several serious defeats. It was Stollmeyer's steady work in the Yale game last Saturday that held the Blue to one score until late in the fourth quarter.
Besides Stollmeyer, the following letter-men will be available for next year's team: Bernard Barnes '30, Derk Bodde '30, A. G. Booth '30, Louis Kerness '29, A. S. Rudd '29, Reed Ryan '29, W. J. Salmon '30, and W. D. Vogel '30.
