The new steam-heatel. baseball cage on Soldiers Field is completed and ready for use. In addition to the facilities for baseball practice, the building contains two tracks, one cinder and one wood.

The new cage is two or three times as large as the old one, and is square in construction. A complete set of nets for batting is installed. All indoor baseball practice will be carried on there, for the old cage will be used in the future for pole vaulting, broad jumping and weight events.

The cinder path, in the new cage, is ten laps and 40 yards to the mile, and promises to be one of the fastest indoor tracks in the country. The wooden course is just above the cinders, and is 11 laps to the mile.
