HARD RIDING FRESHMEN WIN FROM UNIVERSITY

1931 Poloists Prove Too Strong for First String Quartet -- Overtime Period Necessary

Forcing the University polo team into an overtime period, the 1931 quartet won a 6 to 5 victory on Forbes Field at West wood yesterday afternoon. Captain E. U. Gerry '31, made the final tally for the Freshmen.

As a trophy the 1931 team won a cup donated by an anonymous alumnus of the University. The game was fast and close, with the regular six chukkers ending in a 5 to 5 deadlock. The only foul of the encounter came in the second chukker, when L. A. Shaw '30, of the University team fouled Gerry, who scored from the 20-yeard line on the penalty place shot granted to him.
