TIMES CURRENT EVENTS TEST SET FOR FRIDAY
Annual Examination Includes Recent Happenings--Is Open to All Harvard Undergraduates
Dr. John F. Sly, Ph.D. '26, professor in the Department of Government, announced yesterday that the annual New York Times Current Events contest is to be held on Friday at 3 o'clock in Widener N. The contest, as previously announced in the CRIMSON, is open to any undergraduate in the University.
A slight change will be made in the type of examination given this year in that the usual "essay topics" will be replaced by several short summaries of about 250 words each. Outside of this the examination will be similar to those of previous years and will cover the news from June 1, 1928 up to Friday.
Special preparation for the contest is not necessary and all who are interested are urged to participate. The winner will receive a prize of $250 and a medal, besides having his paper entered in a nation-wide contest where another prize will be available.
