PIERIAN SODALITY IN FIRST PUBLIC CONCERT

Brattle Hall to be Scene Tonight of Annual Entertainment Followed by Period of Dancing

The Harvard University Orchestra, Pierian Sodality of 1808, conducted by G. W. Woodworth '24, will present its annual concert and dance in Brattle Hall tonight at 8.30 o'clock.

This is the third concert of the year, one having been given in the Harvard Union, and the other at Milton Academy, Milton, and features as the orchestra's first public appearance of the season.

Following the closing number of the program, the floor will be cleared for dancing until 1 o'clock. Dance music will be furnished by a 13-piece orchestra conducted by F. L. Anderson 1G, director of the Harvard Band, and a member of Roy Lamson's Harvardians.

The program, embodying a balance of classical and modern selections, follows:

1. Handel--Overture to the Ode for St. Cecilia's Day.

2. Byrd--Variations for Strings.

3. Milhaud--"Saudades do Brazil," being a suite of dances.

Overture--Sorocaba--Corcovado--Laranjeiras--Lijuca.

Intermission

4. Dvorak--Two Siavonic Dances, from Opus 46, numbers 2 and 3

5. Haydn--Symphony number 2 in D. Adagio--Allegro; Antante. Menuetto--Trio; Allegro--Spiritoso.
