1. Tennyson and Browning are usually regarded, by the generation to which you belong, as more or less obsolete, old-fashioned, "Victorian", or the like.

(a) Without indulging in unsupported generalities, state and illustrate those qualities which seem to you, in each case, to warrant that impression.

(b) Give (again with illustration) whatever reasons, if any, you see for modifying that opinion.

2. Characterize briefly each of the two men as individuals.
