LIVE UPDATES: Pro-Palestine Protesters Begin Encampment in Harvard Yard
Worcester Academy's unbeaten football team repulsed the Harvard Freshman invasion Saturday 7 to 0, and brilliantly scored the only touchdown of the game with a pass. In the second period, Ritchie, Worcester half back, intercepted a pass of quarterback Haley on the Harvard 25-yard line, and carried it back to the 15-yard line before he was forced out of bounds. On the next play, Ritchie caught a pass from Frigard, playing at full back, and ran the remaining distance to score. Frigard place-kicked the extra point.
Worcester started the game with a second team, which was quickly withdrawn by Coach Presson in the first period when the Freshmen pounded through for three successive first downs to Worcester's 18-yard line, and although the 1935 men smashed their way inside the academy 20-yard line on several other occasions, they could not work up a drive to put it over.
The summary: Score--Worcester 7, Harvard '0. Touchdown--Ritchie. Point after touchdown--Frigard. Referee--George Melican, Mass. State, Umpire--Cyrus Wentworth, New Hampshire, Head linesman--George Carey, Holy Cross.
