California's first football venture on New England soil will be heralded today at 1.30 o'clock in the Stadium when the big red Stanford team clashes with Dartmouth in their annual intersectional battle, the last important gridiron contest of the year in this vicinity.

The Green, with its brilliant McCall-Morton combination, should be favored among native onlookers who have watched the Indian team perform against Harvard and other Eastern rivals. Stanford, with two defeats by Southern California and California smirching its record, nevertheless boasts of a powerful attack which should put the two opponents on an even basis in case of wet conditions. Unfortunately for the visiting Westerners the Big Green aggregation is at the peak of its form; two weeks ago it laid low an undefeated Cornell team, and previous to that showed great strength against Harvard and Yale.

Indians on Vengeful Warpath

Dartmouth, in this last game of the season, will throw all it has into the struggle to avenge the 14 to 7 defeat of last year, when it travelled all the way out to the coast only to lose out after a fierce contest. The home team, although the Columbia and Harvard victories are still rankling, faces a Stanford aggregation which, with two defeats and two ties presents the worst record in many years.

Coach Warner's Cardinals are notoriously handicapped by slow starting, in spite of their mentor's far-flung reputation as a coach. Their 200-pound quarterback, Hillman, will certainly have to concede an edge to Morton, and the latter should be easily able to outkick Caddel
