FRESHMAN TEAM HAS A POWERFUL GROUP OF SWORDSMEN

Displaying ability far superior to its component, the Harvard fencing team pushed the Massachusetts Institute of technology team 15 to 2 in a one-sided meet at the New Indoor Athletic Building yesterday afternoon. At the same Building the Freshmen won from the M. I. T. first year fencers 5 to 4.

H. B. Wesselman '31 fenced the best for the University in the foils bout, smile in the sabre division Harvard's outstanding man was R. B. Lawson '32. with each man fencing only once there were no notable performances in the epee M. I. T. had no chance to exhibit any unusual fencing technique.

The Freshman swordsmen, fencing only foils, won their meet with no such ease as the University. However, the first year fencers showed a superiority which was more marked than the score of the victory indicates.
