GAMM WINS TWICE IN WRESTLING MEET FINALS

STRAUS, NEW ENGLAND WINNER, TAKES HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Providing a series of interesting matches, the finals of the University Wrestling Tournament were held yesterday afternoon on the top floor of the New Indoor Gym before an audience of some 50 persons.

Outstanding among the lightweight contestants was Morris Gamm 1L, former Pennsylvania wrestler, who won both the 118 and 126-pound divisions. Considerably fatigued by his hard bout with David Weld '34, this year's Freshman New England Intercollegiate champion, Gamm in his second contest barely succeeded in defeating Harold Frankel '34 on a time advantage of less than 50 seconds.

In the heavier divisions, the regular members of the University wrestling team were victorious, taking all but the 155-pound bout. D. B. Dorman '32 scored the first fall of the day when he pinned J. E. Davidson '34 after a short, sharp encounter in the 145-pound class. Three minutes later, H. G. Brown '32 clamped the shoulders of A. C. Watson 1G to the mat in the 155-pound contest.

W. A. Robertson '31, captain of the University wrestling team, did some fine grappling to defeat A. W. Kelsey 4G, his powerful opponent. Probably the most interesting bout in the heavier classes occurred in the match between R. L. Gee 2L and G. L. Graves '32, the University 175-pounder at last getting a time advantage. R. W. Straus '31, ponderous heavyweight who won the unlimited class championship in the recent New England intercollegiates, closed the tournament when he threw D. R. Sohn 1L after a one-sided battle.

115-pound class: Gamm defeated Weld, on a time advantage of 6 min.

125-pound class: Gamm defeated Frankel, in an overtime bout. Time--48 sec.

135-pound class: G. F. Nardin IG.B. defeated R. C. Shaeffer 3L by default.

145-pound class: Dorman defeated Davidson, by fall in 3 min., 20 sec.

155-pound class: Brown defeated Watson, by fall in 3 min.

165-pound class: Robertson defeated Kelsey, on a time advantage of 4 min., 10 sec.

175-pound class: Graves defeated Gee, on a time advantage of 4 min., 10 sec.
