HARVARD TRIUMPHS IN FOILS AT NEW YORK CITY

Crimson Takes Championship, Beating Yale and Princeton--Allen Places Third in Individual Competition

New York City, April 3 Harvard University's fencing team won the Intercollegiate foils championship here tonight in the Hotel Astor when the Crimson swordsmen defeated Princeton and Yale in the final matches. Both the Elis and the Tigers succumbed by 5 to 4 scores.

Captain H.C. Cassedy '31, H.B. Wesselman '31, and J.D. Allen '31 were the three men who composed the team. Allen finished third in the individual foils championship coming in behind Potter of Yale and Steero of Navy. Wesselman tied for second in the three weapon championship.

The Crimson sabre team finished in fourth place in the competition beating only C.C.N.Y. and losing to Columbia, Princeton, N.Y.U., and Cornell. The opee team did not qualify for the finals tonight.
