EXPERIENCED FRESHMAN CREWS WILL HOLD RACES

Blue Boat Defeats White Crew in Third Division Inexperienced Race--Winter Season To Start Monday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The final event of the three day program of Freshman fall crew races will be held this Wednesday afternoon, when the six experienced crews will race the first and second crews in the first division of inexperienced men. On last Monday afternoon, in the third division inexperienced race, the Blue crew nosed out the white boat by less than half a length, over a one-half mile course.

Although these races have been held annually every fall for the past few years, this is the first time that any but the experienced crews have gone out in shells. Formerly all inexperienced men rowed in barges, whereas the first division crews have been using shells for much of the present season.

In the first division inexperienced race, held yesterday, the red boat crossed the finish line of the one half mile course, in 2 minutes, 41 seconds, to defeat the white crew by three quarters of a length. The whites were the victors in the second division race, with the time of 2 minutes, 56 seconds, three quarters of a length ahead of the red boat, which was trailed by two lengths by the blues.
