The organ for the new University Chapel, now being built by the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Co., will be placed on two walls of the morning-prayer chapel, and will be invisible behind a grill covering, according to specifications just announced. Behind the gates separating the two parts of the building will be located the console, which is to be of a movable type so that the entire length of the church can be used when the gates are open.
Although the organ is primarily intended for church services, it is also thoroughly equipped for recital purposes. The console will contain four key boards and will be fully supplied with modern mechanical devices. At the present time only 102 of the 125 stops, which the specifications call for, will be installed.
