CROSS COUNTRY TEAM TO ENCOUNTER HOLY CROSS

To Run Over Flat Course With Chances Of Victory Good--'37 Harriers Face First-Year Crusaders

The Varsity and Freshman cross country teams begin their fall season today at 3.30 o'clock in a meet with Holy Cross. M. I. T. was originally scheduled to enter the meet, but was forced to withdraw due to lack of practice.

Coach Jaako Mikkola is looking forward to a successful afternoon, as the 1933 cross country team is the best balanced squad he has coached since the days of "Pen" Hallowell.

Last year, Harvard won all the places in the Holy Cross meet except one. A great battle is expected between Arthur Pier '35, who came in second in 1932, and Edward Kenney of Holy Cross who placed fourth in the same race. Any one, of the ten crack Harvard harriers, however, may be the winner. Beside Pier, Harvard bases its hopes on Captain James Parton '34, John Scheu '35, and other outstanding individuals.
