SISE CHOSEN CAPTAIN OF 1933-1934 SKIING TEAM

New Leader Announces Change in Policy For Next Year--Plan More of Week-End Trips and Regular Practice

Herbert Stanwood Sise '34, of Brookline, has been elected captain of the skiing team for 1933-34, it was announced last night. Sise prepared at Exeter and has competed in Freshman lacrosse and in 150-pound football.

Simultaneously with the election of next year's captain, a new policy for the 1933-34 skiing team was announced by Sise and H. B. Washburn '33, president of the Mountaineering Club. Since the team has suffered greatly from lack of practice, it is planned to attempt to make a greater number of week-end trips next year and to try to practice regularly at Groton, Brae Burn, or Winchester. Of course practice at these nearby places is largely limited by the weather but the skiers will fill in the periods of bad weather by running on one of the indoor tracks to keep their legs in condition.

The skiing team's last race of the season was held on Sunday afternoon over the Mount Washington ski trail when Washburn won the slalom event of the Nansen Ski Club meet, in one minute, 7 2-5 seconds. This victory to a considerable extend atoned for the unsuccessful season hitherto.
