774 members of the Class of 1936 have made application for the 739 available rooms in the Houses next year, according to an announcement yesterday by the newly-formed Central Committee in charge of House Applications. This number represents an increase of 16 over last year's applications and of 51 over the applicants of the Class of 1934.
A preliminary examination of the blanks shows a demand in excess of the number of available rooms priced below $260, while the demand for rooms above that price is less than the supply. It is expected that announcement of assignments will be made on or before May 1.
