Harvard's Chess Club will open its season in a few days with a simultaneous exhibition at the Union, at which a member of the Club will engage in a number of matches with Freshmen candidates for entrance into the club.
At the exhibition, the club representative will go from table to table, making one move against each opponent on every round. In addition to these matches, a blindfold match is being considered, in which a club member, with his eyes bandaged will call out his moves against a Freshmen opponent.
At the conclusion of these matches, Freshmen will be admitted to the Chess Club, and the best four will form a second team. Elections of this year's officers will take place during the second week in October.
Last year's chess team was one of the most successful in the club's history.
