Meigs Winner of University Single Sculls in Time of 3.30

Marks Second in Finals on Half Mile Course on Charles

The University Single Sculls was won yesterday by Arthur V. Meigs 2L, in the fast time of 3 min., 30 sec., with David L. Marks 2L, finishing a boat length behind him. The trials were run off in two heats, both rowed downstream on the half-mile course below Weeks Memorial Bridge.

The first heat was won by Marks in a slow race with William P. Hazard '38, the time being 4 min., 52 sec. The second heat, between Meigs and R. B. Cutler '35, offered the spectators more thrills, with Cutler holding the lead up to the final hundred yards. The sculls was refereed by Paul Reardon.
