Competition for the University wrestling championships will start this afternoon in the New Indoor Athletic building at 4 o'clock. The trials are open to all men except to those who participated in the Varsity matches with Yale, and those who wish to enter will be able to sign up until the preliminaries begin this afternoon. Although only 14 men had signified their intention of entering yesterday, it is hoped that additional entries will raise the total above the 30 who turned out last year.
Competition is expected to be the keenest in the 145 pound, 155-pound, and 165-pound classes, where the majority of the men are entered. Last year the small number of entrants made it necessary to call off the bouts in three of the eight divisions. Edwin C. Ihrig 2L, former Princeton star who won the 135-pound championship last winter, will defend his title.
