COL. APTED'S EYES POP AT SIGHT OF LADY'S TORTOISE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Colonel Charles R. Apted '06, Superintendent of Caretakers, has dealt mercilessly with skunks, solicitors, and rioters, but his heart melted at the sight of a mere tortoise which put in its appearance at his office yesterday afternoon.

"What do you know about that? I've had just about every thing else in here but never one of these," he remarked to the lady who had brought in the tortoise. She had come asking for a professor who would tell her more about the shelled creature, which she said was "very clean and has the run of the house."
