1939, JAYVEE BOOTERS IN GAMES HERE TODAY

Worcester Academy, New Bedford Will Provide Opposition--Yardlings in Quest of Third Win

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Coach Jim MacDonald's Freshman booters seek victory here today in a game with Worcester Academy originally scheduled for Saturday. At the same time the Junior Varsity, under the direction of Ferdinand Stent '37, former Varsity star injured last year, tangle with New Bedford Textile.

Included in the 1939 record to date are victories over Tabor and Dartmouth Freshmen, a tie with Exeter, and defeats by Andover and Brown Freshmen.

The team has shown consistent improvement during the past two weeks and unless Worcester produces a far better team than that which lost to the 1939 Yardlings the Crimson, is expected to emerge with a win.

The probable Freshman lineup: g, Williams; rf, Bradley; lf, Sheridan; rh, Jacobsen; ch, Capt. Lewis; lh, Phillips; ro, Hammond; ri, Johansen; c, Harnden; le, Johnson; lo, Sinnott.

Starting time: 3.00 o'clock.

The probable Junior Varsity lineup: g, Wallace; rf, Morrisson; lf, Carpenter; rh, Kellogg; ch, White; lh, A. Scott; ro, Fraley; ri, Howard; c, Morgan; li, Sleeper; le, Arrowsmith.

Starting time: 3.00 o'clock.

Defensive work has been stressed during the past few days, with especial effort being made to strengthen the forward defences which permitted the Bruin booters to score.
