ADLIS IS DEMOTED TO JUNIOR VARSITY AFTER SCRIMMAGE

Line Positions Still Worry Harlow but Watson and Burton Stay With A Squad Most of Afternoon

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Henry Adlis' demotion to the Junior Varsity squad, and a 40 minute scrimmage featured yesterday's practice of the Varsity eleven. Adlis, only recently promoted to the first team, has developed too sluggishly, and it was felt that more time with the Jayvees might bring him into shape.

The usual hard Tuesday workout was varied only with the absence of signal drill. Heavy scrimmage work between team A and B together with recruits from the Jayvees putting on Princeton plays was the order of the day.

Coach Dick Harlow stressed blocking work and carrying out individual assignments yesterday afternoon, and put his usual emphasis on speed.

Team A, with Hedblom, Blackwood and Ford working smoothly on both offense and defense, pushed across two touchdowns. Ford passed to Knapp for 18 yards and a score for the first six points, and on the final play of the scrimmage, Ford broke loose for a run of 30 yards to add the second tally.

Harlow shuttled A and B men back and forth frequently in an attempt to find the combination with best blocking and speed. Oakes took The Baron Adzigian's place for a time, and Struck and Nee both moved up from B team. Fred Moseley was held out of the scrimmage, as was Gaffney. Oakes was bumped during the play, but not seriously, and he will be ready for action Saturday.

Harlow's principal problem now seems to be the ever troublesome tackle situation. Graham Spring and Bill Prout were on the B squad at the beginning of practice, with Spring playing a good, aggressive game. Watson and Burton were on the A squad most of the afternoon.

Team A lined up as follows: Knapp, l.e.; Watson, l.t.; Husband, l.g.; Jones, c.; Kessler, r.g.; Burton, r.t.; Kelly, r.e.; Hedblom, q.b.; Adzigian, l.h.; Ecker, r.h.; Blackwood, f.b.;

Team "B" lined up at the start as follows: Dubiel, l.e.; Spring, l.t.; Nee, l.g.; T. Brown, c.; Blatchford, r.g.; Prout, r.t.; Winter, r.e.; Ford, Watt, Struck, and Oakes were all defensive backs.
