Shurtleff Will Give Speech on Roadside Development

Billboards, hot dog stands and filling stations will be the defendants in a talk to be given by Flavel Shurtleff '01, New York City planning expert, on "Control of Roadside Development."

The lecture is presented under the auspices of the School of City Planning, and will take place today at 11 o'clock, in Robinson Hall. It will be open to the public.

Shurtleff has been secretary of the American City Planning Institute since 1913, and is legal counsel for the American Planning and Civic Association. He is an experienced lecturer and is author of "Carrying Out the City Plan," published in 1914.
