THREE OF DEMOCRATIC GROUPS STAGE MERGER

Harvard Roosevelt Club, formed Last Night, Holds First Rally Thursday; Congressman Russell to Speak

Launching a concerted drive against Harvard Republicans, three Democratic organizations merged last night at a meeting in the Upper Common Room of the Union. Over 60 attended this preliminary organization rally.

The new combination, the Harvard Roosevelt Club, consists of the Law School Roosevelt Club, the newly formed undergraduate Roosevelt-Garner party, and the Freshman Progressives.

Executive council for the group consists of: Robert H. Gallagher 3L., Winfield A. Huppuch 3L., Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. '38, William A. Kirstein '38, Charles M. Lauritzen '40, John I. Mahler '40, and William G. Mitchell '40. These men were all directors of the three former organizations.

Handling the publicity for the club are: John V. Bonner 3L., Sheldon V. Ekman '39, John L. Foster '38, Bernard F. Kamins '38, and Arthur J. McLaughlin 3L.

With an energetic program promised, a preliminary rally will take place in Peabody Hall, Phillips Brooks House at 8 o'clock Thursday evening. Congressman Robert Russell is to be the chief speaker.
