Ten Freshman debaters who will oppose Yale and Princeton in the annual Triangular debates were chosen last night from a field of 28 contestants. The selection was made by Edward H. Hickey '33, George Gore '34, the two proctors in charge of '39 debating, and Edward Rowe, Director of the University debating.
The winner of the Coolidge Prize of $25, one of the six speakers selected, will be announced at the beginning of the Yale debate.
Those selected to speak are Jack D. Andrews, Claudius J. Byrne, Lawrence F. Ebb, Rendiga T. Fols, Donald McDonald, and Morgan O. Preston. Alternates will be Robert Boan, Norman H. Brisson, Robert Coquillette and Harry M. Shooshan, Jr.
The six speakers and four alternates will face Yale at the Union and Princeton at Princeton during the week of April 27. The subject for these encounters resolves about dictatorship.
