An additional week of summer vacation will be granted this year because of the Tercentenary celebration with the academic year beginning on September 28. There will be 14 days for Christmas vacation and the usual week in April.
The first reading period is scheduled to last from January 4 to January 20 while there will be 23 days for the final reading period. Other holidays will be on Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Washington's Birthday, Patriot's Day, and Memorial Day.
Other announcements in the calendar for 1936-37 are that Election Day will come on November 3, on which day instructors are requested not to give hour examinations.
